Montreal, QC – Jan 30, 2007 – Messaging Architects today announced a definitive agreement to acquire NetMail and take over leadership of the open source Hula Project from Novell.  Messaging Architects has been a Novell ISV partner since 1999. The privately held company specializes in the development of Email Security and Compliance Applications that integrate with Novell’s GroupWise and eDirectory products.

As an active participant in the Hula Project, which was originally launched with NetMail code contributed by Novell, Messaging Architects has focused on the high scalability of the Hula/NetMail messaging engine to develop M+Guardian, its nex-generation Secure Email Gateway. Announced and shipping as of last week, it is the first product to derive from the Hula codebase and is an example of the direction Messaging Architects will take NetMail moving forward.
